I have tried running the fans at 70% constant, seeing no change in performance really :/ As for hyperthreading, I assume its enables as I havnt disabled it. I would like to know how to disable hyperthreading on a i7!

Thanks again

Your 4870x2 has only 1 Gb of effective VRAM, "the other" 1 Gb can only be used as a mirror by the second GPU, as in both memory blocks the same data must be stored when you run any crossfire or SLI setups, or x2 video cards.

Odd, it works fine for me and I don't get jagged edges. Are you sure you had it disabled ingame? If you have it on ingame and on in the CCC, it will make it look funny, but if you conpletely disable it ingame, it shouldn't look too bad. Like I said, disable anti-aliasing ingame. If you wish, turn AA on in the ATI Control Panel, it works and looks fine for me, just take a look at some of my youtube videos...same username.

The reason why I suggest turning on your fan is because a hot GFX card doesn't perform as well as one that is cool. So it's best to just crank your fan up to 100% which is what I also do.

Most likely in your BIOS. (Usually you access it by pressing delete in the primary booting stages of your PC, i usually turn the PC on and repeatedly press it until im in the BIOS. It may be another button on your PC, it usually says which button the first few seconds you boot your PC)

Thanks for all your suggestions. When I get back from work, I will run a defrag, try the CCC AA you suggested, and also try running with 100% fans! Oh and also disable hyperthreading.

Ill let you know how I get on.

PS. I have the exact same issues with Microsoft Flight Sim X. So Im thinking its a Hardware conflict somewhere but we will see.

Thanks Again

Yeah, if i put my fan too 100% its like a helicopter in my room
ATI's run extremely hot, yet I never break 60 degrees

Epic!

I run High or Normal AA (8XAA/4xAA) in game and "AA application settings" in the CCC. Not sure if you know what jaggies are... But using AA in the CCC will break "AA ON In game" and if the "In game AA" is off you will STILL have no AA in game. You can use AAA but the performance to IQ is bad. I can us 32AA in the CCC, and its still jaggie and crawly. Use Normal in game; smooth.
As for fans, i set them as high as it takes for them to NOT get 100%, which on my cards is 57%~( way fukn loud), so they dont cycle.
