Thank you Opteryx. Hopefully that will give you some time to help me out with my map project soon ;)

I have also some pretty heavy performance issues on your map(s).

The ground is flickering, very fast LOD switches from vehicles near, and so on.....

Seems to be memory related to me.

Same here.

We activated Sakakah again recently and I had no performance issues at all.

Aye, it's rather frustrating for me as can't do much till someone comes along and tells me specifically what's causing it and what to do.

Tell me what were your Visitor3 configurations:

(visitor3 menu tools\project parameters\texture layer\edit)

I'm pretty sure that's not the cause, but rather something with all the custom objects. I could send you the .pew if you like though.

Love your work Opteryx!

Hopefully dev heaven can provide you with assistance on your future projects. :D

Once DePbo from mikero is there, it may help tracking down problems by making

an overview about all critical parts in an easy way.

I used to have some serious performance issues on certain missions and the previous versions but know all works wonderfully. No issues on the new version.

I sent you an pm, but not sure if it was sent lol

I'm too ignorant to use the new mp system hehe

send the pew so i can confirm the values.

edit1: New pm: I believe the new settings i showed you will help gain some FPS on the terrain ;)

edit2: I another thing that i forgot to mention: if you intend to port Avgani to ArmA2, it will eventually have some problems.. You are using a lot of original "ca\buildings\bla bla" and miscs, ie, they are fully dependent to ARMA1.

edit3: I noticed that you didn't add ground sounds to the house's floors... maybe you prefer that way, but it would feel better if you eared different sound on different surfaces.

enjoy

Have enjoyed both maps immensely Opteryx thanks for all the time and effort you put into them. I've been porting a WACO/Warfare version of Avgani with Siloa's Dynamic AI Creator and it's been great fun!

Awesome work Opteryx! I hope that someone will be able to figure out what's causing the slowdown in performance. But most likely its just the density of objects. Still ya never know. Hopefully there will be some way of improving the performance.

Very well done!!

Best got better. Colour of the wheat fields: awesome. Curbs in town: awesome. general look: awesome.

Well, you are the island guru. No surprise here. :)

EDIT: About the slowdown in the town. I think its about the density of object as you say. I mean look at that place... It looks so "organic" or "nitty gritty". I cant find the engilsh word, but it doesnt have that clean, straight and boxed style. It looks extremelly realistic to roll on those streets. I guess its just that slowing it down a little.

Thanks for the hard work you put in.

Regards

Alex

otherwise I would probably just keep going for another year..

That's how a lot of Arma projects end up on local harddrives these days I suppose :) It's a hobby after all.

And the environments you created are just fantastic; such love to detail. The colours are also well chosen; I never had such a clear perception of the environment in any of the stock islands.

Cheers,

VictorFarbau
