1.3 kills system director in WIN XP

Allright guys... Got a serious problem here. Im running windows XP on a via apolla 133+ board with a p3 650 and a gef2mx400 with 512 ram and win XP. Everything works fine with the original relase version, but when I upgrade to 1.3 things go okay for a while... But I either lock or upon shutting down... I get a WONDERFUL error message. Windows XP wont start because C:\windows\system32 directory is... Gone... Not there... Disapeared... History... Yeah... Go figure right? It's happend three times... And three times I've had to completely reinstall XP... Yes... Completly... It cant repair it... and system restore wont work because I cant even begin to boot the OS... And making a back up of the directory and copying it does work... Untill I play the game again... And then the back up's gone. I really LOVE this game... But I cant play it on the net because everyone runs 1.3. And Im tired of reinstalling my PC, so If anyone else has had this problem before please tell me... I've NEVER had a game DELETE a windows directory before... But the second and third time's all I did was install XP... update drivers, install OPF, and upgrade to 1.3, play and lock, and weeee.... Directory missing ONCE again... Feel free to email me or reply with ANY advice at all.

Well, I am running WIN XP on an Athlon XP 1600+ and also an GeFo2MX400. And everything works fine here... I have some random crashes but that was caused by low hard-disk space I guess. Well, did you update your XP with the Auto-update? It makes my computer run more stable.

best install a VIrus Protector 1st thing and do you have the Eval Copy of XP?

No problems here too on Win XP Pro except for the cursor issue

Running corpate version of XP... All autoupdates installed. And No virus software installed on the second and third times... NO Programs other than Win Xp and OFP with patch.

Are you using Windows XP home or Professional? If your running in XP Professional..are you running as Administrator? Makes a difference. I'm running on XP professional, 1.8ghz AMD XP, 768meg DDR, GeForce 3 Ultra and SB Audigy..No problem here.

Only problem I have..I'm using a USB microphone..When I do the sound test, it says I'm unable to do sound, so I can't use my mic in the game...Funny

XP only has less then 49% driver support, some where some thing is the fault

most USB hard ware are not supported by XP yet
it's just too new

I refuse to sell it to costumers and tell them why too and they all see and understand why I do this

XP will be like Win 95 for atleast a year
then it will ROCK

Yeah, Im well aware of the XP driver shortage, but thanfully, litterally ALL my hardware has XP drivers, and all of them are, god forbid, WINDOWS LOGO certified!! LOOKY THERE! I know... a Miracle yes... But thats what happens when your system is almost entirely Creative labs, they tend to keep on the ball.
