    inspiration

yeah i just finally got an xbox 360 and my copy of army of two, it really gets into depth about tactics and gives me some different ways to look at combat so im hoping to look at ofp and say, what tactics can we focus on in this game. and i even started a thread about it in the general section so if you have any tactics go there and post. as a mission editor its really important to me to have good tactics principles to teach in ofp and express them through missions.

sorry but a game will not teach you about tactics a military handbook would be you best source of information, and sorry to say but OFP is a game dieing, instead of a 360 you could have moved on to Arma2 with a better PC...

i can understand you maybe referring to flashpoint tactics, but as flashpoint is a milsim much more than your average video game you can apply real world military tactics, that was what i was suggesting.

    Bowery's notes on war

warfare in real time nature is directing a path from the
target you have intel on, to where your forces will be,
determining how many men it will take to establish and
hold all points in between, and maintain flow of forces in
and out of the area until that goal is established.

to raid is to pull out, special is secret,
and a boonie hat is used on waterborn
    operations.

    the first conventional mission
is invasion. if you know they're
going to be shooting at you, send
    in the marines, lifelines behind
enemy lines are led by spec ops
    and maintained and conducted
    by the army.

    thre three types of offensives
    are raid, sweep, and establish.

    missions other than
    war would be intel or
    escort missions.

    conventional mission ideas:

maybe a squad didn't return, go check on them

payback for a squad that was murdered

hunt down a mysterious force that is eliminating squads

    intel gathering

    patrol

    raid

    sweep

    etc.

    tactics in my opinion:

mg lays fire, naders hit what don't move,
rifleman advance fire and flank, naders
stay with mg. saws go with riflemen.

if silencers are used its because theres
another audio distraction in the background
    to drown out the sound.

heavy means lotsa fire, and light
    means on a moments notice.

the three tiers to commando units are special
operations, special forces, and special missions
    units.
