with my new spec up and running, I have discover a slight problem when I try to play a blu ray disk, as I tried all available player on the market all of them fail to play the disk with proper colour, which ended up overly dim and have wried colour polarization, I have tried all the driver for my display card driver, but none of them fix the problem, while dvd and all other format are played normally, anyone have an idea on what is wrong ?

You really need to put more info on the bolded parts:
what is your spec, what is your driver, what software are you using for playing dvds and blue-rays

    Spoiler:

I'm looking for a laptop for my parents. The only things they want to do with it is browse the internet, e-mail, write some letters, watch non-HD Youtube videos, very basic stuff. A built-in webcam is also necessary since we have some family abroad but it doesn't have to be a fancy one, and they're not interested in gaming. The budget is €400 max for at least a 15,6" laptop. I've been looking at some shops and then CPU benchmark sites, and the best performing CPU in this pricerange seems to be the i3-370M (on average about 30-40% better), the AMD E-300 and E-450 are far more common, but they come out really poorly in every benchmark I've seen so far. The main trade-off seems to be either an i3-370M with 320GB HDD or E-300/E-450 with 500GB. As simple tasks do not require that much space, I'd prefer a faster CPU.

    HP Compaq Presario CQ57-366SD
Processor: Intel Core i3-370M (2,4 GHz)
    Cores: 2
    Chipset: Intel HM55 Express
RAM: 4 GB RAM (1333 MHz)
    Graphics: Intel HD Graphics
Shared graphical memory: Dynamic Video Memory Technology 5.0
    HDD: 320 GB (5400 rpm)
    HDD type: Serial ATA-300
    Screen size: 15,6 inch
    Resolution: 1366 x 768 pixels
Screen type: TFT actieve matrix, HD BrightView
    Optical drive: Dual-layer dvd+/-r/rw drive
Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (since they are pretty much newbies and therefore unbiased in their OS choice, I am considering to install a basic Linux version like Xubuntu instead so the chances of me having to reinstall because of a mountain of viruses and malware every week is much smaller)
    Battery type: Lithium-ion (6-cell)
Flash memory cards supported: SD, MultiMediaCard
    WLAN (standards): 802.11b/g/n
Other: Bluetooth, card reader, integrated webcam and microphone, headphone, 3x USB 2.0, VGA, LAN (RJ-45)

Is the above a good choice, or do you know of any better options I should be looking at? This one costs €399.

Does anyone have any bad experiences with certain brands? (product quality or support)

The Core i3 is way better than the AMD part. And for 399 I don't think you can find much better than that.

Does anyone have experience with the new LGA2011 socket yet?

I'm looking to buy a Core i7 3820 but I can't find a lot of CPU coolers that support LGA2011. There are some of them, of course; like Noctua NH-D14 SE2011 or Zalman CNPS12X, but I'm looking for more options. I got a Antac 900 (Nine Hundred) cabinet, if that helps.
    Favours multi-distribution. Neutral against Steam.

i know bangtail has a six core 3830k.
Anyways, looking around some reviews, i really see NO point in grabbing a quad core 3820 instead of a cheaper i7 2600/2700k, minus if you really need to push it to 32gb of ram. (opposed to 16 which is plenty in 99% of the cases)

In terms of coolers, the new entries for Corsair Hydro series - does support it (h60/h70/h80/h100). I do recommend any of them.

As Pufu said - Most of the Corsair series coolers will fit the LGA 2011 - That's what I am using.

Just wondering if anyone gotten the all new GTX 680 and could share their impressions on how Arma performs?

Its propably only me, but I expected little more raw power from the green house to be quite honest but features of the new series are sure sweet! Still, might wait for 670 series though

    Cheers

I have 2 EVGAs on the way - don't know when they will arrive because they are usually the most sought after due to 'step up' which I will use in this case to move to the 4GB model (when it appears in ~2 months).

I'm not surprised at their strategy (if they are to be believed) and if the GK-104 is any indication of what the GK-110 will be later on this year, then I'd say it's going to be a good year for Nvidia.

For Nivida to beat AMD across the board (Performance, TDP, features and price is not the way things usually play out. Most often, Nvidia has the fastest card, but more power hungry and more expensive.

    *EDIT*

Switched to Zotac as the ETA on EVGA is 3-4 weeks
