ATi 4890 causes PC to freeze on gamestart for a moment

Until recently I had a NV 9800 GT and did not experience this.

The only change for my system I am aware of is the new ATI card.

Important to take into account is that -window mode is used.

Now once I launch a2, you see the new task window with the name "arma 2"

start to appear. While this was smoothly before and I could switch tabs

nicely during a2 loading up, now even the drawing of the new task window is

laggy, mouse movement is impossible, the computer basically freezes for a few

seconds until the loading of a2 has reach a given level (not completed!).

CPU use is high of course during the loading, yet at best 80% and the task

manager even shows a drop during the freeze moment.

HDD wise a2 and XP32bit are launched from an Intel M SSD.

Anyone experiences the same by chance or even know how to make it

smooth again with the ATI card? Cheers!

Did you make sure to properly remove the nVidia drivers?

Uninstall via software-> uninstall NV drivers.

Restart. CCleaner. Restart. Install ATI drivers.
