I need some help landing the helecopter...

Hey, and thanks for reading this. I'm trying to figure out how to land the helecopter, and I'm really having trouble with finding out how exactly to lose altitude in particular. It's really odd too, as the controls I use to gain altitude worked fine (Im sure losing altitude works fine as well, I just dont know how). When I attempt to use the key with the opposite effect of what I use to gain altitude (I think it's the thruster increase and decrease keys) the nose of the chopper just divebombs and picks up speed in the process. If I dont crash, then Im still in the air, which means I havent done it right. Im really enjoying the game so far, but I realize it requires a LOT of practice if you're new to ARMA. I've only been trying the landing procedure (in boot camp) for about 45 minutes, so maybe with a couple hours I'll realize what the problem is and be able to fix my mistake. If so, I'll post that in here. Until then, any advice is hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Haha, I got it. I was using E instead of Z to try and lose altitude. I forgot and autimatically assumed E would have the opposite effect of Q (like lean right/left) so I got it figured out now

You have to constantly think 5 or 10 seconds ahead in a helo. Lose the throttle a lot sooner, then, as you notice losing height, pull up the nose to counter that loss. You'll find yourself losing speed and you can balance the effects of losing speed, losing height, and gaining height (by raising the nose) after a few hours practice.
