How to get money to buy from arms dealer?

Hi All,

I'm new to Arma (Gold edition that includes Queen's Gambit) (I have had OFP for years) and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how I can earn money to be able to buy anything decent from the Arms dealers in some of the campaigns? All I can do so far is swap existing gear for other gear, but that gives very limited options and doesn't enable buying of any of the better weapons.

I can't find any documentation or references to how to earn the money needed to buy the better weapons anywhere?
