    Startup Screen is underwater, now!!

    Hi, guys,

I have the steam version. The first several times I started the game, I saw the LHD with all the planes, ect. Now, I'm under the surface of the water, and hear birds, lol...

If I start a mission and go back to the main menu, everything is as it should be again.

Anyone know what's going on, and how to stop this from happening?

    Thanks!!

You could check the cache integrity of the game via steam to see if it clears that up. Otherwise you should take the time to enjoy this undersea adventure.

I tried USING it, since this is a new install(Track IR 5 actually fried my motherboard, and I had to rebuild everything...). I don't see a difference between the paramater and not using it.

I got that when I moved to 8GB of ram (from 6GB). When I added the -winxp switch to fix the texture problems that show up with >8Gb of ram, it fixed the underwater menu problem as well. If that doesn't work, try a voodoo doll. This game is like that.

Oh snap. Did you tell NP? Is this some sort of common problem or something?

Now how exactly did that happen? Pretty strong accusation there.

I will pretty sad if I plug in my brand new TrackIR5 (arriving tomorrow) and my brand new system dies.

I haven't had any problems at all, especially of this kind and I've never heard of a TrackIR unit "frying" anything much less a motherboard.

NO WAY TrackIR fried your board. It does not draw enough voltage! I researched TrackIR thoroughly, ESPECIALLY the complaints forums and this was never mentioned. I think you know alot of folks here are getting/have TrackIR and are spreading FUD. The why is the question. I don't want to argue with you, or hear the details of your story. I just could not stand by and let you put doubts in potential buyers' minds about one of the few products that actually exceeds expectations from a company whose customer service sets the standard for quality.
