User Addons for Official Release

I posted this here http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=81460 but posting it here too hoping BI would see it and comment pretty plz

Is there any way you guys at BI could select the best of the best user addons (I'm only thinking weapons and vehicles) and with permission from the creator release them with patches???

There are some amazing user made vehicles and weapons out there but like all before them they rarely get used by the mainstream OFP/ArmA player.

Something like... with each major patch, BI select what they think are the best 2 or 3 addons for the time period between each major patch and release the addons as official with the upcoming major patch and so on.

Best being...
- Falls in line with the ArmA2 standard/feel
- To serve a real purpose/to be of actual use in the ArmA2 world (not just a hummer with a different GPMG on it or another variant of a G36)
- Looks, plays and controls like its authentic
- User friendly

Maybe BI could slightly edit them to comform to BI standards

I totally agree.
There is a lot of user made content that should be standard within the game so that it can be used online without the need for addon folders and the like.

I agree absolutely.

BI could hand the task to 1 or 2 employees, it shouldn't take up more that a day before a patch is finalised for release.

Of course because that guy who made it worked for BIS So BIS does use addons they like.

All copyrights and permissions and true source etc would have to be very thoughly checked and traced before BIS could even consider adding them to an official patch, otherwise BIS could have accidently stuck their head on a chopping-block!

Nice idea ..... but very tough for them I'd think.
