How do I disable my grass and HDR?

The enemy NPCs seem to be able to see through it with no problem, but I can almost NEVER tell where I'm being shot from because sounds are not directional in this game and I don't have grass x-ray.

Also my HDR randomly makes it so I can't see at all in the game. Like when I'm standing in the shade on the edge of a dark area my "eyes" won't adjust.

    Grass:
You can turn it off for Singleplayer by setting Terrain Detail to the lowest value (not sure if it's Off or Very Low).
In Multiplayer however, you're either locked to the graphical detail that's set in the mission, or you can have the choice to set viewdistance and grass detail in some kind of options tab, but not all the missions have it. (This options tab can be accessed either by pressing T, or a command the action menu, it's called Show Status in one mission type)

    HDR:
HDR cannot be turned completely off, as the whole game lightning system is built up on it. But there's a mod that reduces HDR effects:

    Being underground is too mainstream.

Actually, they are. It's not as noticeable unless you have Surround Sound though. If you throw a grenade and turn so it's on your left, then the noise will predominantly come form the left speaker, and vice versa.
