choC 10 Posted July 11, 2009 (edited) Throughout the game, whether it be at the menu screen, singleplayer or running ArmA-II, I seem to be getting odd stuttering, despite FRAPS showing me an FPS well above 40. My Specs: i7 920 @ 3.66ghz – 1.275V – 39C idle/79C Load Asus P6T Deluxe V1 Noctua NH-U12P 6GB G.Skill DDR3-12800 ATI HD4870 with Catalyst 9.6 Asus Xonar Essence STX TT Toughpower Qfan 750W Win7 RC7100 with all updates All tested with prime95 so it is stable and runs other games fine. Has anybody else experienced this 'stutter'? It seems to be greatly exaggerated when AA is enabled, but is still evident with it disabled. What can I do? FraG_AU 10 Posted July 11, 2009 I get a stutter with HT on in Win 7 RC1 (not in 7232 build). I actually went to Win 7 7232 and that problem went away.... Have you tried to turn HT off yet?
Jon K 10 Posted July 11, 2009 Minimize the stuff you have running in the background. Had a similar issue, it was almost rythmic and found that it was my Riva tuner gpu performance monitor. Shut that off and it now runs smooth as silk.
choC 10 Posted July 11, 2009 Seems like good advice, I'll try disabling Avast, that might be the culprit. I haven't really got anything else running in the background to be honest apart from fraps. If that doesn't work, I'll disable HT and post back results. @ Frag_AU: Is it possible to update to Win 7 7232 or do I have to re-install the OS again? Reinstall or upgrade.. Obviously try every option first before considering this. It worked for me, and both were clean installs so to speak.
