Missing xAudio2 file(s) & sound issues

Hi there,

I'm suffering from the same problem, downloaded CO last night and I can't get it to launch, I just get the arma2.exe - Bad Image - C:\Windows\system32\x3daudio1_6.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error etc

I have downloaded the latest DirectX redist, as stated in first post (via "run as administrator") and then checked to see if X3DAudio1_6.dll is present in the directories you mentioned. I have it in C:\Windows\System32\X3DAudio1_6.dll and C:\Windows\SysWow64\X3DAudio1_6.dll but I do not have a directory C:\Windows\Sysnative\X3DAudio1_6.dll, could that be the problem? Hope you can help me as I'm struggling badly!

Just wanted to share my solution so far, Arma 2 is now running with the aircraft carrier intro, not played yet but wanted to post in case others are struggling. I put fresh version of x3daudio1_6.dll in both C:\Windows\System32 and C:\Windows\SysWow64 and then unblocked each file (done through properties) and gave permissions on all the 3 different users in my list, this made it work, it then gave me the same error message for a new file, d3dx9_41.dll, I did the same thing with this, delete the originals in both folders, update and unblock and then the game loaded. Hope this helps anyone else struggling with this.

Played both games and Day Z now so this works real good - also no sound problems.

i installed those dll files and when i came to the game there was no sound. i downloaded that direct x thing and i have direct x11 how could there be a problem help me by replying

I must be an idiot,but i need to know.... where do i extract the files to?
And by the way im working on a Mac with Parralels.
