jdaly 10 Posted June 29, 2009 Hi, I have been having some problems with launching the game, whereby it will take around 5-10 minutes before the game will launch. The PC is fairly crippled during this period, having task manager, etc unable to launch, as well as firefox, and a range of other programs. These programs will run normally if already launched. I have a strong feeling that this (again:j:) is to do with dreaded securom, as the initial game launcher doesn't appear until I have waited the 5-10 minutes. I have tried doing some process monitoring to attempt to find out what module or file is causing the issue, but I just get this error message instead: http://www.securom.com/message.asp?m=module&c=5025 [insert 15 page furious rant on how Securom is garbage and pointless as is removed from pirated games anyway and is therefore only annoying for paying customers, blah, blah, heard it all before but no one actually listens, etc] The only issue I can think of is that I use an IDE CD-ROM drive in a USB enclosure, which is getting a little long in the tooth now. My other important specs are (nothing is overclocked): AMD Phenom II X4 940 8GB Corsair RAM [800] Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe XFX ATI Radeon 4890 [x2, Crossfire] Vista Ultimate X64 Any suggestions are welcome, no matter how basic or advanced they are.
