Thread: MP Co-Op Campaign - Saving Issues

    Same issue here. A friend and I have completely given up trying the coop campaign. Unfortunately, this is the entire reason we bought the game, and we are both extremely disappointed in the quality. Why did we pay $50 to beta test this thing?

    I can understand small bugs, but did nobody bother trying one of their most publicized features? Not being able to load a save in a game that has more fatalities from bad pilots than enemy gunfire is a bad thing.

    Please fix the loading issue. I can live with bugs if we can actually resume when the game kills us with a said bug.

    How is everyone's coop saves experience with 1.03 now? My group seems to have a problem with unlocking the next mission if we play from saves. We can't unlock next missions unless we play the current mission in one instance.

    Same here we managed to get to DoW but it doesn't save at all in MP?? It's just too long to do in one go, even if you could we don't want to have to rush through just to do it in one sitting.

    OH MY GOD! Patch v1.04 turned this awful game into pure comedy, and then quickly into absolute frustration. A friend and mine tried to play the campaign tonight, and this is what transpired.

    A) patch 1.04 erased all current campaign missions - We issued a collective moan as we realized that we would be suffering through all of the heli-crashing, desynching fun again.
    B) Being forced to restart, we attempted the starting carrier mission three times, all unsuccessfully. This is what happened each time.
    1) We were unable to talk to the commander to proceed. Oh well, decided to try again.
    2) Same issue as before, no guy to talk to. We ended up shooting each other out of pure frustration and we were forced to start over.
    3) During the masterfully annoying turn out the lights cutscene, my character got up and decided to walk directly at the screen....on his own. He became disloged in the corner, and when I got him out, the main door to the room wouldn't open. My friend managed to get the back door open, and while he couldn't talk to the bridge guard, he was able to put his hands behind his head uncomfortably close to his face.

    Oh well, at least getting stuck right at the beginning saved us some time in the long run. I feel bad having bought two retail copies. I should've saved up for duke nukem forever.

    Hey,
    we're also having issues with saving/loading in multiplayer (1st real mission).

    My friend hosts a game: we're both able to join and everything works fine, except for loading. Whenever he uses revert it just restarts the mission over again.

    When I host a game: sometimes when he joins, he's not being spawned in the chopper and can only look at the map, other times he is in there but doesnt have nightvision and cant hear the other guys talk.

    However for me saving works but reverting back to the state just loads the automatic save you get when you close the game.

    And ONE year later we're pretty much in the same situation in OA. It seems that you are supposed to be able to save at any point in the OA COOP Campaign but it does not seem to work at all and no matter which saves you choose to revert to the game keeps reverting you back to the last Autosave.

    Also still seeing some bugs in the saved games, my friends Humvee was invisible to him and his entire fireteam was in there. He could see the humvee on the map, but could not see it in the 3D view. I on the other hand was able to see the humvee but it keep disappearing and reappearing.

    I agree the Coop saving feature is a real mess. However we we're finally able to complete both campaigns and I have found a couple things to remedy the saving issue.

    • Alt-Tab and backup your campaign saves directory frequently
    • When you want to load and it loads the autosave, just delete the particular campaign.continue and roles files
    • If it still loads a different save state, delete that as well (check the properties of the files for modified date)
    • In some missions where you spawn in a videosequence or helicopter the second player will spawn somewhere on the map, in this case just start the game with one player and let the second join later (when the sequence is over)
    • If the game crashes when the second player enters, he should reboot his PC, also turning off Xfire helped
    • If a player is experiencing issues like not being healed by AI, having the wrong weapons, additional team members missing upon joining, crashes when driving vehicles --> you can be pretty sure that this savestate will be messed up badly


    I know is annoying to need to do this, but it gets you through the campaign and they are just amazing with other players.

    BI please fix this properly

    i have this problem i CANT CLIK CHOSE PURCHASED UNIT IN CTI MODE I CAN CLICK GEAR MENU COMMAN MENU ETC BUT CANTTTTTTTTTTT CLICK MENU PURCHASED UNIT WHAT GOING ON 24 HOUR MY TIME IS ALREADY GONE FOR SEACRH THE PROBLEM PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
