Thread: Blocky, and blank textures.

  1. #1

    Blocky, and blank textures.

While playing the demo, alot of the textures either don't load, or are hugely blocky and just plain ugly.

Here's a photo of what it looks like, taken from Kujina.

was reading, I partly fixed my game, apparently adding -winxp to a shortcut from the exe will fix that, though that needs to be fixed.

Exclamation I found 2 fixes for this issue

    Hey man,

I had the same issue and the recent 2nd 1.02 patch still didn't fix it. However, I found two ways of fixing it from browsing the forums here.

#1 - Add -winxp to the end of the Arma 2 shortcut (that will limit the game only only seeing 4 GB of memory I think).
    or
#2 - go back to older Nvidia drivers. I just uninstalled the 186.16 Nvidia drivers and installed an older version 178.24. That 100% fixed my issue and Arma is working with all my memory now with -winxp switch.

***EDIT 182.50 Nvidia drivers are also working correctly***

(So this really seems like an issue between this games and recent drivers? Wierd... at least it's working with no missing texture crap)

    Intel q9450
    8 GB RAM
    Vista Ultimate 64
    Geforce 8800 GTS 512 OC

Steam allows you to run a command with the shortcut.

Okay im having the same problem. Here are my specs.
    -Intel I7 Cpu
    -9 gigs of ram
    -64 bit Vista
    -HD4850 graphics card.

I have the Arma 2 shortcut on my desktop, i have already enabled it to run in compatability mode (windows xp). Still has not solved my problem. I also updated my video drivers. I messed around with the ingame settings and still havent figured out why it will not provide textures. alls i see is barely a few colors, and blocks. Can anybody please help me?
