Campaign unplayable with grass details very high ??

    Hello,
at the moment I am playing the mission bitter chill or smthg, the one where you have to escape the land...

But what is really weird is the fact that when you turn terrain detail to very high, you can't mostly see the enemy, but they can see you.

So the solution is turning grass to very low so you can see them as well..

    Why is it so ?

(sorry if you don't understand what I'm tryin' to say, but its 3 am and I came from tha pub so in that case Ill rewrite it tomorrrow:-D )

    I agree with you.

I only got ArmA2 yesterday but the one thing that has really disappointed me so far is the fact that you can't have the eye candy we've been looking forward to for so long if you want playabililty. And the grass is far too long anyway, the cows are clearly not doing their job

I can only hope that future patches level the playing field without us having to level the grass to have a chance of spotting the enemy.

Its a reality simulation.... so its hard.
You'll just have to better your tactics, or die a lot.

That would be the secondary ops managment system or ambient combat module.
Nothing to do with this topic or the game, just one poorly designed mission, MUTHAF!

Its called flanking. Try to rethink before running in Gunho ala Akimbostyle. Hit and run tactics work best when your in a small squad against a full squad of enemies.

Training and dont go in blind expecting you can kill 6 man on your own without being spotted and shot. Scan now and then while you move once you spot enemy units check your map and get a good defence position where you could fall back to etc. With grass on full theres the reality where you can get to a slightly elevated position go prone and flatten the area around you since you can flatten the grass. That way you create an area where you should have no problems with the grass around you since you can overlook the rest in front.

Try and train it a bit in the editior just put some civ's somewhere and pretend they are enemies and work on that grass !
