It is possible that it may help. Various video options could also influence the behaviour.
Completely off-topic but that is great the CEO of the company gets on the forums to give some advice! Along with the devs on here. Man, that is fricking awesome! What a great company you guys have!

    "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2.exe" -nosplash -maxmem=512

This is my path now - tried lots of changes in the video settings:

It seems like a higher viewdistance makes it crash faster.

+1 WL for spamming the forums.

The last thing people looking for help need is your pointless spamming.

    Agree on that!

Back to topic, that's not good that it keeps crashing, whats the memory usage like?

I dont know why but in the campaign (first mission whre you find the hostage, cant continue any further because of crashes) seems to crash alot faster then single missions or editor stuff.

every detail on very high (runs pretty fine anyway)

iam currently loading the SP2 for 64bit systems, gonna try the maxmem command afterwards. Doesnt maxmem decrease on the performance?
Viewdistance is ok for your system. But I personally see no difference in normal, high and very high textures except for fps loss. Try lower lettings. I won't look ugly. I'm gonna release a performance test soon in the german support forums.

Same Error as Blechreiz, after playing some minutes.
Tryed it with lower specs (all set to "normal" which should not make any trouble to my System) but doesnt work. Distance is set to 3000 meters.

Sometimes there are "colored triangles" graphicbugs before it accurs.

Edit: - maxmem 512 did not worke for me
    you mean those triangles? http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/5334/unbenanntxpb.png

    Edit i am running 4850e @ 2,75ghz, 4gb ddr2 and HD 4850 with latest 9.5 Catalyst

Despite it may sound quite crazy, there is one suggestion, you should try to downgrade your nvidia drivers. I assume by latest drivers you mean

    GeForce/ION Driver Release 185 WHQL Version: 185.85 Release Date: May 06, 2009
Unfortunately, we couldn't test the game on these drivers on time for the release thoroughly so it was tested on previous drivers only. We have now some reports that these drivers have created major issues under Vista and rollback to previous version 182.50 surprisingly cured it. I am yet awaiting on some intel about these latest drivers and Windows XP but it may be well worth trying.

Moving to all new ArmA 2 Troubleshooting forum.
If someone reports an issue/complains about the Alpha etc, replying in the thread "dude it's an alpha" doesn't really help anyone! Point them to the Arma3 Alpha feedback tracker instead please!

Please do not PM or Email me directly about your CD Key issues, follow the guidance in this thread instead.
