Thread: Importing & Exporting Objects

  1. #1
Lets see if i can express my self right:

In Visitor's "Script output" window there are these two, "ImportObjects.vis" and "ExportObjects.vis", scripts.

I would like to know if its possible to use these scripts for the following idea, because from what i tried i had no success in doing it. Didn't spent much time with it yet though.

My idea is to import and export some objects already done in my older Al Bayuk version map into the new and bigger version.
I already did some considerable work in house placing concern and i would like to import all work that was done into the new version. Note: Copy Paste does not work.

Before i waste more time on this, are there any tips advices that i should be aware?

    Help is appreciated

    Hi.
I havent tried those scripts yet, but copy/paste does work.
Open both maps. On the new map, hit project/import templates. Point it to the older maps pew. This will add the objects to the new maps object list, then on the old map you can hit select all, copy and paste into the new map.
    Hope that helps.

    Thanks for the enlightenment!

Use Project | Import Template first to bring over all your renamed objects into the project. Saves a lot of time. Still have to manually create the roads, but I'm grateful nonetheless for the Import Template tool.
