Just was playing a game on a server was doing well

near the end of the game i started having strange things happening

My guns were shooting by themselves and changing weapons automatically

Pylons started spawning above me till they crushed me.

Another time the vehicles started floating and crushing players

A Jeep followed me around floating around till it crushed me

Was a MP game on someone elses server

Unfortunately ArmA got means of cheating built in (the scripting system). Most servers just don't have verifySignatures set on. Without that everyone can use addons as he likes. It doesn't matter at all if these addons contain a CLI to execute any kind of code or just decent sound modifications or what so ever.

Your best bet is to find those servers that are using both BattlEye and signature verification - they're the least likely place to encounter cheaters. The only problem right now is that it is impossible to know which addons are allowed on any given server.

I guess it's time to do some more PR for your addon tool then.

That aside, I also think it would be good to have a central authority for trusted addon signatures, preferrably with some kind of automatic update mechanism for the servers.

I am willing to do some free PR for you yoma (see my signature - i just miss the image). Check KH forums when you have a bit of time

The problem is ALL the ADDON makers should sign their work. At the moment we have to sign it ourselves and then link a download page where you got the signature files and addons as well. A bit sloppy from addons makers i'd say (besides a few)

Yeah, there seems to be a lack of understanding in the community about ArmA signatures. I can't see any reason why people don't sign addons, unless they either don't know or understand why signatures are needed, or don't know how to use the signing tools.

pufu, you've been here long enough to know the signature limits.
