since 1.45
for the majority of helicopters it is impossible to land 'normally' using keyboard.

The player hovers approx. 2 metres above ground (although the height indicator may dip below this, and it is impossible to land until the engine is switched off....

well i will continue testing this

(most of my testing done in the AH-1)

You can land with Mi-24 and the chinook only.

Exactly the same problem since 1.45. I stay 1-2 meters above ground and I need to turn off engine to land.

Confirmed bug. It does not happen when you use joystick, but it does happen with keyboard. As a workaround switch engine off when just above the ground to land.

Also, if you are doing troop movements, you dont need to be on the ground, they can climb in at 1-2M off the ground. Whie doing the 3 R's [Refuelling, Rearming, Repairing] You can hover next to or above the vehicle. You really dont need to land unless your getting out, then again, why would you get of a helicopter...?

Cool

Whew its not just me then...i use a joystick but my throttle lever is buggered so i replaced that with keys.
The bug is good in the respect of being able to skim the ground at fast speed and strafe the enemy...quite fun infact and at first i wasnt sure if it was done intentionally.
I read somewhere though i could be wrong that the altitude you can fly at has increased, yet in single player i reached a height of 170m. about the same as before.

Any possible dates set for a next possible patch? The switch engine off thing is rather hard thing to do, the chopper will always take some speed just right after I got my hands to the "engine off" action, which usually results in the chopper flipping upside down or crashing into a nearby tree. With 1.42 I could land a chopper very fast by doing a quick turn and coming down, but now it takes quite a long time hassling with it, trying to keep it stable for long enough to the engine to turn off.

Yes turning off really ain't a good option. It will flip to one side often as Keg said.

Yea. It's especially annoying in MP. You must take the flag quickley in CTF and it takes more time to disembark. It's annoying.

The bug annoys me too, but it's not that big a deal.
You don't need to turn the engines off to land.
I just come to a hover and eject. Neither your nor the aircraft takes damage from falling 1 meter down to the ground

When BIS fix this, hopefully they don't alter anything that affects planes. Now they work like a wet dream come true. Landing and taking off on all kinds of ground
