Thread: Al Amiriya

  1. #1

Translation: Al Amiriya or Al-A'amiriya; WikiMapia

More info: <ul>"Amiriyah Fallujah: is a city in the Al Anbar province, about 30 km south of Fallujah. It was named Amiriyah Fallujah after the occupation of Iraq because of huge number of Displaced from the city of Fallujah, with a total population of 110 thousand people."[/list]Source

During the American war on Iraq the city witnessed violent clashes Such as city of Fallujah and Ramadi as well as explosions and car bombs with chlorine, but in the end in 2007 the anbar police took over on the city.

Al Amiriya map is still a WIP.. theres still lot of work to be done, lot of buildings to be placed, with patience and inspiration it will be ready eventually.
The map is surrounded by desert and you can hardly notice where it ends.. in real life theres a huge river that cross the country and i can not simulate it in this game (yet).
So the map have a big river, more like a very big lagoon with one bridge like in real life.
Last showing pic shows you the size of the hole map taken from a chopper, so you can have an idea of the map.

ATM the map has 13 different .rvmat (7 diff sand colors; 2 diff grass; 2 diff rocks; 2 diff durtground)
These textures may suffer some changes in the future as they do every day, in order to fit better and give a more natural effect.

PS- If anyone has nice Iraqi object models (buildings) that want to share an see in this map, please mp me.

    Feedback is welcome.

    edit: added some info.
    edit2: updated some pics

Looks sweet. And the bad spelling Arabic doesn&#39;t say Al Amiryia.

    It says something like &#39;no hope no justice&#39;

    Should say :

To answer the question, atm it does not require QG, for future i don&#39;t know if will use QG (didn&#39;t decide yet).

Also, i can&#39;t wait to start making missions on this map, if it worth

Edit: thanks Rebl Man: i saw your new sig.. how is your map going? I feel it will have same environment.. they are "relative" near locations.

Wow, very stunning work. I&#39;m glad more map makers are working on similar "themes" in the type of map work they are doing. I&#39;ve grown bored of Sahrani fast, and primarily use Sakakah. I&#39;m glad to see more maps to mix it up from mission to mission.

Excellent work&#33; Keep it up, bro.

I would like to ask the more experienced ones how will the game react with all the sidewalks and without them..

Will the map lag alot less if not use the sidewalks?
I ask this because i was thinking to add sidewalks in most part of the city&#39;s map but there are 3 more big zones to place them, and i fear it will cause enormous lag due to them

Also would like to know your opinions about how im organizing the blocks...
Note: the organized ones are the ones with the sidewalls..(i think you can notice the difference) the rest is just for an quick idea of the area.

also i need to rework the sand roads somehow.. they are too small hihi..

I think any area using sand roads would most likely not have sidewalks built.

It&#39;d much be much appreciated by a few units if you didn&#39;t&#33; It&#39;s hard enough trying to find decent islands that don&#39;t need QG, as getting everyone in a group to buy QG just for an island is a bit of a pain. Or at least a QG free version.
