Thread: Lost CD-Key...

I know I'm not suppose to lose this, but there has to be a way to get my CD-Key(obviously not a cracked one) back.

    Thx,
    L!nk

Shouldn't you be contacting the publisher of the game and not us?

If the game is still installed, the key should be in the registry somewhere.

Otherwise you'll have to buy the game again. It will be pretty cheap now.
I guess you lost the manual? The key is printed on the back of it if you ever find it again

Please contact the publisher of your version, there is no way this forum or BIS can get you another (legit) CD key.

Not sure where your CD came from but my key is in my Arma manual!

    Mine is from Atari.

If the games currently installed the hash of the key is located in the registry here.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA

    Under "Key" (obvious)

Now, you wont be able to reinstall the game with this.

But you could probably just zip up the whole game directory. Maybe minus any addons if they take up alot of space.....

C:\Program Files\Atari (For Atari version, it'll be different for the others)

Then export the registry entrys for the game. ***

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive Studio\

It will create a *.reg file which you can right click on and merge.

Btw BattleEye with 1.11b creates a entry here as well

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive\

    -----

and then Burn them to disk as a backup. Would also save you the trouble of having to repatch as well ***

Im not sure but the User files probably get remade when you launch the game again, but you could back those up as well.

    They are in My Documents.
