I wanna complete it badly, but I don't wanna use cheats or anything like multiple saves.

I've got four tanks including me (2 T55s, and 2 T72s), all heading to the main base to blow it up, but I keep getting whipped so badly in the process!

Especially those last two T72s!

I've tried all sorts of stuff, like trying to prevent the crew members from going in the empty vehicles and stopping the T72 guarding the base.

It's just so hard!

I remember when I played the demo, I played the exact same mission (only that you were infantry instead of tanks), and I remember I experienced this bug where when you attacked the main base, no baddies would attack you back. If there is a bug like this on the actual mission in Resistance, I'll be glad to hear it.

And also, I looked at walkthroughs - none of 'em work for me.

Whatever you do, don't charge in like a lunatic. That's a sure way to get outgunned by the defenders.

You can do it with a single T72, counter-AI tank tactics and a little luck. Get an AI driver and do the gunning yourself. Maybe have a few guys on foot spotting the enemy tanks and PCs for you and taking out the attacking rpg guys when you start clearing the town. Just keep patiently switching positions, retreating and popping up from nice covered positions and grind them down one by one. Divide and conquer, you know

Or what i did before the main attack is to go and place mines in strategic places for the enemy tanks to find.

I find it funny that you say that because that's exactly what I do and it all works out great. What you wanna do is get into the tank first as gunner, then make one AI move in as Driver. Then you switch positions with him and you're driving and commanding. It's so much easier than the commanders position. I hate the way the AI drives.

Yeah it's quite easy if you just line up three tanks + BMP and rush them too. But try going rambo with a single T72 in vet mode, without 3rd person view. I guess that's entirely possible too but it might take a few tries

Hmmm, I have a different approach myself.

You need visibility set very far, at least 2km. Also either binoculars or the Druganov for yourself.

After defeating the small outpost, hopefully you should have the UAZ available.

With everyone else in tanks (2 per tank) you and no 2 get into the uaz.

Order your tanks to go to the saddlepoint in the hill to the west of the outpost, just out of sight of the town. Make sure they are on ceasefire as well.

Head yourself in the UAZ to the mountain North of the town. Climb it until you get as far as the comms tower.

That would be a great place to view the town, if it wasn't for the forest in the way. Head down the hill to the east of the forest, there's a rocky ledge that is a perfect spot for what follows.

Now, take advantage of that wonderful visibility, and spot by right-clicking on every enemy visible in the town. Also note the two tanks off in he distance about a mile or so directly south of the town, near the coast.

Order two of your tanks to Reload HEAT. Now look over at the saddlepoint, which your tanks should be just behind.....

Pick a point on the hill for your tanks to go to, where they can see the town.

Give them the weapons free and engage at will. They should begin firing into the town. Since no one's in their tanks, those infantry don't have a chance, especially with HEAT!

The rest is up to you really. Just watch for the two tanks racing to the road to your 10 o'clock as you face south. Once nearly all's dead, send in the tanks into town, and complete the mission.
