Bug tracker down?

Recommended Posts

I've wanted to check the bug tracker for the last couple of days but I can't seem to reach it. Is it down or is the problem on my end? If it's down, how come?

Since its hosted to an unoffical site, it seems that the servers of armed-assault.net/de are down.So we must wait until the admins went online.

Admins are working on it already. Hopefully we and all hosted pages will be up again soon.

Sorry for any inconvenience confused_o.gif

A certain German ISP wiped our harddrives and re-rented our

servers, without prior warning or even a reason. Apparently the

booking system was faulty .. we lost all data and are currently

working with (read: against) the support people to patch the whole

mess up. This proves to be difficult because that particular ISP

doesn't even keep a copy of our contract with them.

We have some older backups, but as long as we don't get our

hardware back, these are of no use to us.

Wow that really sucks sad_o.gif

If your ISP does that now you really want to stick with them? Since everything is pretty much (*&^%%$%^ up now why not change host?

If we (armaholic.com) can be of any help with getting files back or something let us know. thumbs-up.gif

That means all the reported bugs have been wiped out too? I hope not. Or at least I hope BIS had a backup copy of sorts on their machines.

BIS is not involved in the bug tracker.

We had backups of our own, but it seems the host deleted those

as well. You can plan ahead for disk failure, file corruption and

hacking .. but a renegade booking system is not something we

had factored in.

At this point we're trying to get our hands on the harddrives and

perform data rescue, but as I said .. they haven't exactly been

cooperative so far.

@El nino Foxhound

Thank you for the offer. Sadly, right now only the ISP can help us.

It's a conspiracy!   wow_o.gif

Sorry couldn't resist...

No-one had local copies on their hard disk drives? That's quite weird... Well it happened with other community websites too. Like with ofpec. Luckily ofpec had at least some kind of backups... I guess this proves that even if you are using a commercial host, bad things can, and do, happen.

Backup to your computer and to DVD!

please don't tell me noone of the admins of BTS done export of SQL database ...

that are some megabytes or tens MB at max ...

why people never learn to backup (forums, BTS, ISS, wiki w/e) ...

the worst thing is i already said that about backups so many times ...

We backed up all of our files on a seperate harddrive and on a

seperate backup server, we have older backups on other servers

and we handed out phpMyAdmin access to all our hosted websites

for personal backups, including the BTS.

On the other hand we're just not able to prepare for freak

occurrences like this one. Once the provider wipes both our

servers and our backup space, we're esentially out of options.

Maybe boecke has his own backup, or maybe we still have one of

our own somewhere. We'll come to that when we're sure that our

drives are really a lost cause.

Is there no law against ISPs just deleting possibly irreplaceable data without warning?

It is one ... trust me ...

apparently BIS paid this certain German ISP to get rid of the BTS, so they can announce that ArmedAssault is actually BUGFREE now wink_o.gif

You will believe me, when the cameo uniforms will turn MAGENTA in Armed Assault 2 and the main character's name is "Robert T."  smile_o.gif

Cheers

Boecko

P.S.: no... i have no extra backup ...

Since the BTS seems to be lost, would it possible to set up a new one? I've found a couple of new ones...

I thought the BTS was working quite well.

There is many places where all internet data is stored like US goverments internet representive but I am certain sure that in this case there is no way to get it back. Way to put some BTS back to net again.

OK lads,

For those who want a bugtracker, i have setup an 'mantis' for public usage on http://www.armedassault.eu/bugtracker/

The bugtracker is completly EMPTY, so whoever wants to help out and create appropreate projects/sections should send me a msg so i can give you the rights to do so.

For that task, i prefer people who already used the old bugtracker on armed-assault.net

I am, by no means, stealing the Bugtracker project from AA.net! - that means if armed-assault.net returns, im happy to hand over the database to them, so they can continue their initiative.

The bugtracker has daily backups, which are mailed to my gmail account.

Cheers!

Nice move Jerry thumbs-up.gif

I´d suggest that anyone willing to continue the bugtracker uses this alternative because our tech guys still have alot of other things to do.

if some of the 'old' bugtracker users would be so kind to help me rebuild the old structure, then this thing can be back on track in a jiffy!

- please pm me if you do!
