Thread: mouse wheel not working in xp

  1. #1
My logitech mouseman worked fine in OFP back in the day with windows ME, but I upgraded to xp to get rid off all the general unstablility, but now the mouse wheel is a no go. It works fine in every other game suck as unreal, return to castle wolfenstien, half life, etc, but in OFP the mouse wheel doesn't work. Clicking it registers the 3rd mouse button as usual though.

Anyone else with this problem and have they been able to solve it?

    TIA

It's a known problem with the Logitech mouse drivers, it isn't strictly related to Windows XP.

You can avoid it by uninstalling the Logitech MouseWare crap and using the standard Microsoft mouse drivers that came with the OS -- the mouse wheel and Action menu work with those.

thanks, mousewheel works now, but lost all function of extra buttons on the mouse. Liked haveing crouch as the thumb button, but oh well, mouse wheel is more important.

I haven't installed XP yet, but under Windows 2000, I was able to use all the buttons on my Logitech mouse using the stock Microsoft drivers.

    Oh, I will.

A friend of mine who works for Microsoft is getting me a NFR (Not for Resale) box, I should have it in a few days. I'll probably have to wait a little bit until I install it though, because my tape drive doesn't have official XP drivers yet. That's the only thing holding me back.
