yea, on the turret the vertical axis is somehow the wrong way, if you move to mouse up the turret goes down and the other way round.

You can even adjust autopilot features used by AI, to calculate how far ahead decisions are made. If you up the sensitivity massively for these variables you should be able to get a very responsive ship.
