Thread: Squad color sections.

Hi, I searched the forum for this topic, but I couldn't see any, maybe no one uses this option.
In Operation Flashpoint the player could assign a color to some members of his squad with the key combination 9-9-1...5 and this colored section of the squad could be recalled by simply keying 9-1...5. This way the player could select some members of his squad very fast, it was a great idea!
In Armed Assault the player can issue a color with the key combination 9-1...5, but the recall combination is missing!
I suspect someone missed a "9" in the "assign" key combination during the game programming.

If you hold down the command key (usually space) you can select the color by scrolling over it with the mousewheel, and then give orders by clicking in the world. However, though you can give basic move, attack, board commands with this method, you can't use any of the more useful command menu commands (like combat mode, engage, actions, etc). Frustrating!

I noticed this too. I have no idea why this was changed.

Yes, thank you for the hint. I didn't linked any key for the command interface, like you I prefer the old OFP system.
I assume that linking the COMMAND INTERFACE command to a comfortable key, I'll be able to quickly select those sections again.

I was able to issue all the commands to the sections. Try using the mouse wheel to scroll the orders and the MAKE ACTION command. Or keep pressed the COMMAND INTERFACE key and use the old good numbers combinations.

Did you try holding Shift and the F-key? That will select the whole team that unit belongs to. Pretty smooth I think. Oh, and you can also move teams or individual units to positions on the map. Very neat. I can't get them to watch directions always though, quite frustrating.

thanks for that hot-key did not know it existed. I guess another one of the lessor known features of ArmA.
