Thread: Import OFP WRP files

  1. #1
Any way to import an OFP Wrp file, or even export the wrp file to a greyscale or similar ?

I wanted to take my WaterWorld from OFP (made with WrpTool) and import at least the terrain profile .... and then upgrade it to ArmA textures etc

    Any creative ideas?
Seems like some people have done it before ... ie Eden

the old wrp editor used to have option export bmp. not sure what spec it was on the output and wether turning it to a 16 bit png will be any good .
also and this is a bit offtopic . you can remove all objects in old wrp. write a basic config. use dbo_afghan config and rename the wrp. when in game ,press ctrl and then - on numpad. then type topography , this give out an emf pic to the root of c drive . i dont know hopw useful that is and i think it does have map grids , (which if nothing else is good fro creating a new satelite.)

other than that piece your old textues from of together to creat one massive pic

I imported the terrain from an OFP WRP into V3 by doing the following:

Binarize the island (this can be a nightmare in itself).
Start a new terrain in V2 using the same number of cells.
    Connect to buldozer (OFP buldozer)
In V2, chose Import terrain from the project menu.
Buldozer may give an error and die.
Reload buldozer, then wait ten seconds and the terrain will load into v2.

    Save it as a pew.
    Open that pew in V3.

(i did this a few weeks ago, might have missed out a step).

    Ok thanks guys.

Considering I didnt have V2 installed, don't think I can be bothered going through all that pain.
    ... and Binarize'ing IS a pain.

Need some simple programs that stick textures together for us .....
