I installed these drivers without issue (I had no awareness of this issue at the time).
I had an issue with the previous couple of ATI drivers, where performance was terrible for the first (and only the first) reboot after installation. My standard practice is to now reboot immediately after windows finished loading for the first time after installing new drivers.

Windows XP Pro SP2
Is Crossfire now officially working with this driver or are we still having to rename the ArmA.exe and continue having seizures from the strobing that results most of the time?![]()
Wow, just installed the 7.9 and the game runs noticeably smoother.
This is definitely an improvement, I flew around sarhani before and after installing the driver, and i quickly noticed the improvement.
It is a nice surprise!
However I still have my Airplane Shadow problem
specs: Core 2 Duo, P5B motherboard and HIS IceQ3 "Turbo" X1950 Pro (not agp)
On a sidenote, is it ok to install ATI drivers directly over old ones (without uninstalling the old ones)?
Nvidia drivers automatically uninstall the older ones, but it didnt seem to me that ATI drivers uninstalled the old ones, when I installed 7.9
Why doesn't it work on AGP cards?
i have a Sapphire x1950 pro 512mb AGP and when i install the 7.9 drivers my pc just shutdown my monitor supply. and I cant see shit. I only see a black screen and monitor shut down to save energy.
u never shouldnt install new drivers over old 1's. I uninstall previous drivers, use driver cleaner to get rid of whats left of the old 1's and install new drivers.Originally Posted by (xav @ Sep. 15 2007,05:27)

Performance is also a few FPS better for me.. :S Im not sure what the problem could be.. did you use the ATI Uninstallation tool in the add/remove programs before installing the 7.9 driver?

i removed from Painel control, then rebooted and started in Safe mode. Then i used the Driver Cleaner 3 to remove the rest.
Restarted in normal mode and installed the driver. Had mentioned problem.![]()
Hmm sorry then i dont know what the issue could be :SOriginally Posted by (bravo 6 @ Sep. 15 2007,13:50)
All i did was run the install, custom, driver + CCP and it installed first time, i restarted my PC and it was all fine :S
maybe it has to do with the power supply. Mine is a 550w Green silentOriginally Posted by (Jack-UK @ Sep. 15 2007,13:01)
