Anyone having trouble with the "...8007000" crash to desktop error and using an Nvidia 8800, try the 158.19 older BETA drivers. They can be found on the Nvidia website.
I've had this CTD bad ever since the 1.08 patch, and it's now gone after installing this driver version. Fog bug also disappeared or was dramatically reduced, and no more stutter when zooming in optics.
(BIS states that memory changes were made in 1.08, and I was curious about what Nvidia was doing with memory addressing or allocation in their drivers. From driver 158.22 onwards Nvidia turns their "turbocache" on which uses 64MB virtual memory along with the VRAM. Really don't know why they do this on cards with 768MB local VRAM. Couldn't find out how to turn this off with any registry switches in newer drivers to see if this was a factor with ArmA. But the 158.19 build is the last I could identify where the turbo is off for 8800's.)
Interested to have others try it and report back. Remember to manually delete any of the newer drivers that remain AFTER uninstalling - I found two in the Windows folder.
