Hi there.
I'm experiencing what I believe to be a small AI glitch on the basic pilot training mission. After the briefing is complete, the pilot/instructor just stands there and does not board the chopper.
This is kind of serious since this makes me unable to complete the mission, since if I move too far away, the mission starts over from when I've just taken off.
I'm not sure if this is related, but sometimes the pilot stands in the same spot and goes through some kind of "shuffling" animation, as if he's getting ready to walk somewhere.
Another thing that might be related is that I tried the CFF explorer fix for the random crashes I was experiencing (ie, setting a flag in the arma.exe that lets it know it can handle >2gb, this solved my random crashes.), but that shouldn't interfere with the AI behavior. Doesn't affect MP gaming either (apart from that I don't crash anymore, that is ^^ ).
I was able to complete the mission once, on Regular, but only because the pilot was suddenly in the chopper beside me after the fourth or fifth time I 'failed', but that doesn't seem to work anymore. I've also had a few problems concerning squad members temporarily forgetting how to board vehicles in the leader training, but I solved that on my own. (Patience is key.)
Anyone else experiencing something like this? The attack helicopter training doesn't have this problem. To me it looks like it 'forgets' to get the pilot moving, or is a pathfinding issue. I'm open to ideas, but this isn't really a high priority. I just like to replay those missions to get some airtime, and thus make less of a fool of myself once I get to fly in MP.
Any ideas, solutions, patches or ideas most welcome.
