Thread: Creating a Lan server

  1. #1
    Hi all.
I have created a dedicated server, using the -dplay and -port command line switches, and on my client machine i can see the game and i enter the remote ip, and then password, and all is fine, but I get only to 'connecting to host', and no further.

I have the firewall switched off, on both server and client machines. I also have the port open on my router (but that should not affect the local connection, as i use the local ip to connect.

All this works fine with OPF, using similar settings, but cant understand why i get stuck at the host connection part.
Any words of wistom from you dedicated server guru's would be most welcome to a novice, such as i am.

    Cheers.

Is the server configured to load a mission automatically? If not, it'll just sit there someone logs in as admin and selects a mission.
Documentation is not a dirty word.

    THanks for the reply.

Ah.. No its not configured for a mission. What i'd like to do is to allow the first client to select a mission from the available ones. if that possible..?

Yes, if they login in as an admin.
