Just a silly thing I noticed. Don't know how long it's been fixed for either. Note I said 'fixed'.
...
When I got the demo (original one), something I noticed, and which irritated the living @#$% outta me when commanding AI:
You could say (exactly like you could in OFP), for example:
"2, move to that tree." (then, before he got there), you could say "2, watch 9 o'clock."
He would run off to where he was told and watch where you told him to.
With the ArmA demo I noticed that if you did it this way they would NEVER watch the correct direction once they were in position. You had to let him get there and only then tell him to look in the correct direction. A frustrating excercise to say the least, especially when time is not on your side and you don't want to babysit AI!
I was surprised because OFP had it right.
Well anyway...this story has a happy ending. I don't know when, but somewhere since the demo and v1.08, they'd fixed it. I only discovered this yesterday.
Pointless post? Maybe...but I can tell you that I wished I'd known it was working correctly about 4 months ago.
Anyway...to anyone sharing my previous frustration on this issue, I hope I've brightened your day.
*awaits the "why not just do it x y z" comments*

Good hint. Dont knew that.

maybe as hint, but not directly related to topic...
i found when you select a or all soldiers, use the "free look" button(ALT in most cases) you can order them to watch a direction without hassle in the command menue.
like the simple select and klick to order movement, you select, stop up "free look" and give them the "watch X o clock" command.
works like a charm...
