I know this is way offtopic.. but I can't think of a better place than this!

I have a bet going with my friend's wife about the morals of men and this has to be the hardest thing to come to agreement on. She won't listen to her husband or I (a single guy) on this and refuses to believe I would do any of this. Can you guys help me out here?!

Here's the scenario...

If you are (or were) a single guy... at a bar (or other social gathering) ...and you saw a woman who was beyond good looking - went up to her and started to work your thing and she turned around and mentioned that she was married (or otherwise committed) but didn't mind being "friends" and only "friends". Would you:

ok, but it's not very exciting....

My friend had some problems with his wife because she would accumulate MANY friends when going out either after work or with just her female friends and a few wouldn't "give up" on trying to get laid - to be blunt about it. After confiding his worries,he asked my opinion and I told him that I personally would walk away but I argued most men won't and we had a BIG debate (me and him on one side) and his wife on the other about how trustworthy he should be. We decided to poll our other friends but I figured this was the best way to get to the bottom of this. We bet two weeks worth of drinks on this... I'm starting to get worried with the results so far.

Anyway... no I'm not after his wife... just after some free booze! ***Is that so wrong? ***

Dammit... ***Were meeting up after work tonight and I must report back and face the consequences... Oh well, not like I haven't spent alot of money on a woman before.. Looks like my friend's in for some future ulcers though! LOL!

Your poll is flawed, so don't worry.

The problem is that your scenario takes place in a bar. Any male, in a bar, about to pick up a babe is either...

a. drunk
b. out to get some

You don't go to bars to find female friends. And don't even try to convince me about that. You go to bars to get drunk, to hang out with friends and/or to try and score.

It is also flawed because most of the people here, of a mature age, are probably fairly intelligent people. Where as at a bar you can count on some 75% of the males being not so intelligent. Atleast not at that particular time.

So don't sweat it. I think you are right. Most guys would either walk away and forget it or remain friends in hopes of getting some from that women, her friends, her sister or whatever else female relative happens to be around.
