Thread: Zoom out while in vehicles?

  1. #1
Is there a way to toggle the zoom out while operating a vehicle? ***I have the zoom toggle assigned and it works while playing infantry, but not in vehicles. ***I find the zoom out view is best when flying choppers, but can't get it to work where it will just stay zoomed out without me having to hold down the key the whole time.

    Thanks

try the big zero key on your keyboard's NUM block

Is that a hard-coded key? Because like I said, I have the zoom toggle function assigned to a key (re-assigned from the default), and it doesn't work while in vehicles.

Num_Minus and Num_Plus are the zoom in/out keys. Unfortunately the values don't "stick" or have a working "toggle" which is really a shame because flying around in "max zoom out mode" without holding down a key would be quite nice.

It works for some infantry weapons but not all of them I've noticed as well.

I use a piece of paper do block the minus key in "hold down position".
It`s not the perfect way, but it works well.

You have to rebind the default setting for one of the zoom options. It's default is set to "trackIR." Once you get rid of it, you will be max zoomed out by default when going into vehicles.

I have a feeling that works if you delete the Zoom z+ (analogue) [or whatever it is] keybind but doesn't that have really nasty consequences like always walking around zoomed totally out?

The only real annoying consequence to doing that is when you switch to iron sights, it's maxed zoomed out. You'll have to hold down the right mouse button (or fiddle with the other zoom keys on the numpad) in order to use the iron sight to its fullest potential.

I have no idea how to rebind the key back to TrackIR except by selecting "Default". Unfortunately that'll wipe out all the other re-bindings I have done

/Edit: In order to rebind it, you have to drag "TrackIR+tz" from the binding menu.
