[REPLIQUANT] Authentic weapons mod

First, Thanks BIS for the release of ARMA.

I was not very satisfied by some of the weapons in ARMA so I have decided to redesign some of them.

My first project is the M9. The default one was too poor.

Will work on other guns in June including a new acog and a better aimpoint (specially when you aim at close distance).

If one weapon is unrealistic in the game let me know (do not know all arma guns yet).

If your new then I'd say you look like you have potential, thats a definite improvement, also glad to see that you took the correct side into account, (for those that don't know, BIS in a way confused the right with the left, left has the nut.

Certainly looks good. Once the tools are released, you could get the whole SLX slide movement going, as well as the other enhancements for other weapons.

It is encouraging...

I have updated the first image with the thumbnail of the beretta logo captured from the armory option in ARMA.

Well, will try also to replace those "hands" with realistic one (will do my best)

Do I understand you correctly that you want to have zoom on aimpoint? If so thats not realistic at all.

But good initative upgrading the weapons!

sorry no (my english). When I use the aimpoint it is not real for me (I have a real one). I will try to reskin the aimpoint so it will look better when you aim.

The aimpoint is very difficult as its impossible to make a realistic visual "experience" of it with a 2D image. But a realistic reskin is better than nothing!

I would like to redesign the compass with the real USGI one (and bigger). Do you know where the graphic stuff is located in addons? (Am I blind?)

I like it, a lot, and I'm pretty picky, so that's a good thing.

You've got some real talent there. Having retextures for most weapons with that more clear and dark sort of textures would be awesome.

Someone wrote the solution for making compass bigger:

Write down the following text in config.cpp file:

Hi, booth that M9 and the compass look much much better than

the BIS ones, i don't see the tritium? reflective marks on the back

sight and the aim point of the M9, but i guess that they'll be there

once that you've ended the job on it; my question is... will they

work in low light conditions?. That'll be pimp. Let's C ya

I don't know personnaly heliosjet but i'm pretty sure he gave up this project and arma because of the Bis patches which according to him broke hdr. Moreover, some dudes said his work was useless because they weren't able to see any differences compared to vanilla weapons, hence, no need to bump this thread anyway.

I hope i'm wrong though, i think his job is pretty good.

Nice great job the M9 looks really awesome.

Now you asked if any weapons doesn't look realistic,well i say the m249 saw hmm something is just wrong about it i think first of all it too light it should be much darker secon of all i think the sights are too round i thnik there should be a square sights behind the round sights like the 6th sense m249 saw has!!!

the work he showed looked awesome, but the last post before it was revived was back in june of 07.... has any new work been done on this and is there still planned release?
