Sexactly. I'll save that kind of thinking for when 8800s are at the bottom of the heap, cost $150 AUD each and I need a new mobo.

Everyone tempted to post another inane/useless/whogivesatoss topic in the A3 forum - here.

New drivers have improved the 8800 in XP and vista to its true potiential.

Visit 3dguru and grab the correct ones for your machine.

I tested the last drivers from Nvidia, but it does not solve the SLI problem in ARMA, and that's not the point that one card is enough to play with the basic option if I wanna play all the graphic options activated in HI res. That's my choice, and I think it is a big lack for ARMA.

ive tried the current 158.19 on XP and vista, the early 97.94 and the beta from guru3d on XPSP2 as well a few with both 1.04 and 1.05 and none of them really show any improvement or even compare what ArmA runs like on a 7900

the best performing i would say was the 158.19 on vista (x64) but thats only because dual core runs better on vista

EDIT: oh yeah i tried the 158.19 on XP with the 1.05+ beta patch and it didn't really show any improvement either

well the 158.19 drivers on the US Demo allow my 8800 to play ArmA with Everything [B]Maxed[B] so your wrong about needing too there lol.

Also the 158.19 and the US demo sorted out my fog issue.
