Thread: graphic "smashed" ?

  1. #1

    Red face

    Hi,
please have a look on my screenshot. As far as i understand it, it's not the LOD-issue. I wonder why this only happens in ArmA, benchmarks run fine?
When i reduce the overall graphic-level everything looks fine.

However, i overclocked my X1950XT AGP and it seems to me that maybe only "one function" is damaged now?

    some more details:

    - temperatures are fine
    - starting with Cat 6.12, no other driver works better
***(older ones don't recognize my card)
    - reinstalling doesn't help
    - no patch helped

Please help me before i have to send my card back and can't play ArmA !

    thank you!

    my system:
    - Asrock Conroe865PE - C2D E6600 - AMC BIOS 5:4 -
    1GB Corsair DDR1 dualchannel 2-3-3-6 ***-
GeCube X1950XT AGP - Terratec Cinergy XS -
    SBAudigy SE - Enermax ELT500AWT -

    Try unclocking the vidoe card?

    run DX diag?

All other games work ok bar ARMA?
\"Let the Kids CS, let the button mashers BF2 and let the Adults use ARMA\"

    Talking

    Graphics corruption... overheating, driver problems?

Bring down the graphics settings (resolution, PP, shadows and textures) and put the card back to default clock speeds before its too late!

There are other less alarming things that can cause this but for now try to be on the safe side.

Yes, card is now on default. Hm, now i just had graphic errors running 3DMark06. DXDiag works fine. So it's not ArmA i guess...

Its an AGP card? You system seems relatively new so i find it strange to be AGP... if this happens when you push graphics settings (and stress the card) it might be the cooling.

But... i have read about several corruption problems related to these high end AGP cards, unfortunatly i cant really go technical on this problem.

Rolling back to catalyst 6.7 removed this problem for me when i was running an ati GPU. Theres a thread about this problem somewhere, lots of people with ati cards suffered the same problem.

The artefacting looks similar to what you get when you overclock too much but is actually driver issue.

I think the 6.7 catalysts will sort you out

Yes it's a DDR1/AGP by Asrock supporting Conroes. The temps seem to be ok, maybe only one little chip is overheating now ?

Thank you, but i've read about this LOD-problem. Unfortun. 6.7 won't install, it doesn't detect my X1950XT !?

Even worse that i get problems with 3DMark06 too...

Heres the thread i was on about, youll see lots of people have/had the same problem...youre card is probably fine.

EDIT: its not the LOD problem. almost EVERYONE gets that . Getting it in 3dmark isnt a good sign though
