Ok maybe im doing something wrong but im having a lot of problem. Im in a mission in campaign where you first time use night vision and you have to take out 2 or 3 tanks and then destroy enemy base after you join with some other group. The problem is this: i tell my men to get back to formation and open fire mode. We get on top of some hill and wait for those 2 tanks, or there maybe 3. So i tell my AT to target the enemy vehicle, and i specificaly tell him to keep low because those armored vehicles shoot everything that moves. And what does he do? He gets up and go chase him, crouch, switch to launcher and fires at them. He usually gets killed before he even changes weapon. I even tried telling all of them to engage. Same thing, only i loose like 3 my men. Im still "saved" on top of the hill and cant make that objective for like 3 days now. If he gets killed i take the launcher but most of the times there is no ammo or like 1 rocket left and two tanks. Im pulling my hair out, what should i do?

Try ordering his behaviour to 'stealth'

So like from return to formation i shuld first order him to target the tank and then order stealth, or first order stealth and then point at a target?
Oh and i forgot: is there any way to like switch to AT? So i can control the AT and the AI controls commander?

Seems like they are having "engage at will"-combatmode: when you order them to target some thing, they will engage it on their own. Give them order "disengage", that way they maintain formation or their position. Then order them to target (not engage and not attack) by command-menu or right mouse button.

Other useful order is "hold fire": They open fire when you say so, or when enemy is getting too near, or they are shot at. When "hold fire" You can give them two orders how they should open fire.

-Either by "fire": They shoot only that target which you have given them, when target is down they won't start to shoot anyone else... but that "hold fire" thing aplies to that and most likely they are being shot at so they return fire (if they are alive anymore). I don't usually use "fire" but "fire-at-will", but when stealth is necessary and men are equipped with suppressed weapons, "fire" can be useful.

-Or you can order them to "fire-at-will": That way they start from target you gave them, and after target is down (or hidden from them) they change target by their own will, if you don't give them new targets.

did you also try telling them to Hold their positions. select them all with "~" and then "1" + "1"? That way they won't chase a tank. That's on top of telling them to stay low and giving them "Danger" ROE.

Just order stealth, lie down yourself and order him to attack the tank.

Rather than changing the units behaviour, use the correct 'Go Prone' command instead of 'Keep Low', the latter being the equivilent to setUnitPos "AUTO", where basically the AI will go prone when you (squad leader) do, stand up when you do, etc... and the former working like setUnitPos "DOWN". This will force him to stay prone when he can (but take note he cannot prone with an AT weapon), whereas using Stealth and Combat behaviour merely suggest they keep prone, and doesn't guarantee it.

If they are indeed on 'engage at will' you can get them to return to formation by telling them to disengage.
