server name

Can anybody initiate me in the secrects of how to give a server a name. Just cant figure it out.
I see only names like fritz on das computer etc. Thank you.

for hosting and not dedicated, the server name is the same as your computer name

i'm not sure if this will work, but you might try adding:

hostname = "blah-blah, whateveryouwant here"

to the arma.cfg file in Users directory in Documents and Settings. Its possible it may work, i've not tried it. Just a wild hairy shot in the dark.

Otherwise right click 'My Computer' and change your computer name... Name it to something like QUADCORE MEGA PC and expect 60 players in 30 secs.

you need to create a server.cfg file and place in it this text:
hostname="Put your server name here";
and put that .cfg file in your '/bohemia interactive/arma' folder..
Then right click you arma.exe file and send a shortcut to your desktop, right click the file on your desktop and go to properties, after the target line enter this text...
-config=server.cfg
click apply and ok
now run the game from your desktop shortcut and all should be ok
