    Hello All,

Ever since I've tried and fallen in love with the SLX mod, I've been frustrated by a couple of points:

(1.) My system comes to a crawl whenever I try using in tandem the SLX mod along with FFUR2006's or with WGL's mod on any mission that's dynamic in nature, especially if it's one of Kutya's superb missions/campaigns.

(2.) Keeping point #1 in mind, I'm more than happy to run SLX alone with replacement units that show up whenever one of BIS' default missions/campaings are played, but so far my search has been pretty fruitless. Unless I'm overlooking something, the vast majority of the addons that I've found do not automatically replace the units that are found in BIS' original work.

For example, it's my understanding that BAS' unit replacements have fewer polygons than most of the units that are featured in FFUR2006 and thus I'd like to use them alone with SLX, but BAS' units won't appear in default BIS missions.

So this is what I'm looking for: I'd greatly appreciated recommendations of unit replacements that are better looking than BIS original units, that will automatically show up in BIS' original missions/campaigns, and yet won't eat up the resources that mods like FFUR2006 do.

If it's not too much trouble, it'd be great if links were posted to the replacement units that are recommended to me, or at least the exact name of the specified file so that I can hunt it up myself.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated on this matter!

The two largest tank producers in Hitler's Germany were Opel, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors (controlled by the J.P. Morgan firm), and the Ford A. G. subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company of Detroit. The Nazis granted tax-exempt status to Opel in 1936, to enable General Motors to expand its production facilities. General Motors obligingly reinvested the resulting profits into German industry.

Considering how inferior American made tanks were compared to German ones, why didn't GM or Ford use their designs for their German tanks as a basis for America's military might? How many more lives could've been saved from needless slaughter had they done so?

The "dma naval modpack" should be what you are looking for :
Using the Marine Assault Pack units + old BAS TSF + some other low poly soldiers models and weapons, with no additional special effects or vehicles replaced, it should then display the exact same performance than default BIS OFP, while looking better.

But it is not compatible with the SLX mod, as it already use its own config.bin file, to achieve compatibility the "dma naval modpack" config.bin should then be edited to feature the SLX eventhandlers and effects.

    Sanctuary,

Thank you for directing me towards DMA's naval pack, which I thankfully already have from when I had a cable connection; downloading it via dial up would be a pain in the buttocks.

Would you be so kind as to direct me towards an in depth, step-by-step tutorial on how to alter config bins? While I have contributed to a limited degree towards mods for other titles, I have zero practical experience with OFP.

Thanks again for your advice. Now I hope I don't burn the house down trying to get that config to work...

    Yours,

    Kyle
