Thread: How do you use a profile for a diffrent name

  1. #1
Ok i have saved my profile from the arma other profile folder in my documents. But what i want to do now is change my name ingame and keep that profiles keyboard setting ect, instead of having to change all my keys again. Does anyone know how to do this.

Assume yourusername.ArmAProfile = fully set up player profile.
    -
If you only want to change your ingame name, start ArmA and
in the mainmenue, look to the upper left corner (Player)
    Click on the soldiers picture.

In the following menue, you have the options to rename (edit)
your current players name, delete it or create an new player(profile).

Ok, if you just want to rename an existing one, thats easy; see above.
But say, you want to create one or more entirely new profiles
and let them have the same keysettings ect. than an already existing
profile (you must then, of course, first have an already finished set up profile! )

    1. Create all new profiles you want. They will be stored in
the ArmA other profile folder in my documents.

    2. Shutdown ArmA and copy the
yourusername.ArmAProfile to each new named/created profile folder.
    Delete the newlycreatedusername.ArmAProfile file
    from these new folder(s)

Change the name before the Dot of the yourusername.ArmAProfile file to the *new* profile name.

    troop.ArmAProfile to
    troop2.ArmAProfile
    --
This will retain all your setup keys, resolution, ect.

If you start ArmA now, you should have one or more
new profiles to choose from, all with the same settings.
    Hope it helps.
