I got my copy today from amazon. (German version),
So I installed it and when I'm trying to launch the game it gives me the following error message:
"Failed to read the shader cache file. Missing or broken shdc file?"
I figured the dvd rom drive might be the problem, so I tried daemon tools, but that wouldn't work either.
Please help me...is there anything I can do?? I wanna play this game damnit
btw, I already installed the patch

If you don't post your system specs how can anybody help you?
Does your PC match the minimum system requirements?
If someone reports an issue/complains about the Alpha etc, replying in the thread "dude it's an alpha" doesn't really help anyone! Point them to the Arma3 Alpha feedback tracker instead please!

yes it does, it's a 2.08 ghz dual something from intel, 2gb ram and a graphics card i don't know, it's a notebook.
If I don't get it to work, I will return it to amazon on monday...
go to start > run then type dxdiag when the prompt comes up. When dxdiag appear, click save all information. All your system information should be there allowing you to post system specs, which will allow the forum members to attempt to help you out.
In this text file saved by dxdiag, go down to display adapters, next to "chip type" your graphics card name will be displayed.

I think you'll find there's a very large probability that your graphics card does not meet the minimum requirements for ArmA which are written on the back of the box.
it is your grafikcard
