I don't think Microsoft likes the idea of people making (free content/3rd party) for games on their DLC/XBLIVE ,without MS getting their cut.
What about the XNA concept? It is made for just that, to give the gamers the chance to create their own games AND to put it on XBL as DLC ... to be seen if it is going to work though

(furthermore, i'm not into hacked 360's but i met a guy who said he was making Oblivion mods and run them on a hacked 360 ... 360 was super easy he said ... i cannot confirm this story, but i found it very interesting)

Let me dig up an old topic ... and hinting towards ArmA.

I really don't care anymore if ArmA will or won't make it to 360 (i have ArmA on pc as the only pc title worth my time). But i will say again that all arguments of pc fanboys simply don't apply. Not the controller, not the 'dumbed down' sillyness and in (near) future appearantly not the last resort of fanboyism the 'modding' ...

    mods on consoles

Interesting story Max. It does open up some possibilities.
I have accepted that the only way I'm gonna get to play ArmA is on the pc and I have to say it really doesn't bother me, although I will be trying one of my X360 controllers with it.

On your webpage is that an update to Dead Rising?

ArmA on pc for single play doesn't bother me either that there is no 360 version. But for co-op i would very much like to play with my XBL friends, i just don't have the courage (so to speak) to build up another set of virtual friends. My own Dutch Ghosts clan is too dear for me to leave.

Anyway, i really enjoy ArmA on pc and have a heck of a time mission editing.

However, i'm well aware i have let down the Elite community. My 'Dead Rising' project is half finished and i'm 98% sure i won't return to Elite.

But 'Dead Rising' could see the light on ArmA, in fact i allready converted it to ArmA (90%) so yes, the ufo's are flying and strange things are still happening:)

But the real missions i'm working on are Max Qubit's The Convoy (see sig) and the upcoming Max Qubit's The Rescue. The first one is on a fairly stable v0.3 (quite enjoyable), the second is on a pre-v0.1, but is immersion to the maxx, a mission where not a single shot is fired (hmmmm, would it be an idea to integrate MQDR into 'The Rescue' i muze ... that's for the future;)

Well, I don't see any reason why not to continue with OFP: Elite. I'm right into making some new missions that portray historical SEALS battles (Operation Fury and Operation Just Cause battles) and after some time without gaming at all, I realize again what a great game this is. Now that we have some add ons it's even better and since ArmA is a different game (different setting, different islands) I can't see that OFP: Elite is obsolet now. It's still the best war sim (the only one) on any console and I will continue to play it and making missions. I will have a new PC this year that is able to run ArmA, but that only means I will have two cool games to play

Several missions for Xbox available on our site! Go to:

I for one, will not be leaving Elite just yet.
For me, ArmA is a must have but Elite still has so much enjoyment to offer and I'll continue playing/editing and mission designing for a good while yet.
Like you said Grim, I can have two cool games to play

Can't wait for the new missions mate

Hmmm, all my time goes in ArmA (and Dg clan on 360, currently RS:Vegas)

Anyway, the ArmA mission i'm working on Max Qubit's The Rescue has now a topic with atm some teaser screens. I hope to have v0.1 available as download tonite.

(I think v0.2 will see parts of Dead Rising revived in this mission, so all Elite energy was not in vain;)

(I know above is OT cause it is ArmA, not Elite, but otoh i see ArmA as a continuation of Elite, and my inspairation for the flashpoint universe originates from Elite)

i don't like the way microsoft have implemented XNA at the moment though. if mods/addons for 360 version are going to be possible they need to demand less money to make it suitable for a good community. i mean you have to buy-360,xbox live subscription and a like 40 pound subscription to XNA even if you just want to try out games other people have made.

    too right-
1:PS3 is the console pretty much only for sterotypical console gamers(e.g the only decent game they play is GTA-that to them is a full simulation).
2:PS3 would probably explode just from loading the map because they just shoved everything in, assuming it would work. whereas 360 is finely crafted.

Unfortunately for many Ghost Recon surprisingly turned from a down to earth tactical first person shooter into a dumbed down futuristic 3rd person action game (GR2/GRAW).
i totally agree-i too have been hugely dissapointed with 360 so far, i mean, even elder scrolls, once a hardcore RPG, sold out and went mainstream. i loved the original Ghost recon/Rainbow six games but GRAW ended up as a linear arcade game and GRAW 2 will be even worse because they have basically done nothing to improve it.

Apart from the curious Over G Fighters title on 360 it is RS:Vegas which is really THE 360 title for me. I have/had much fun with the demo's. After that with the retail campaign and the online stuff. As always, i'm a coop player and like the Vegas co-op very much.

For me (and not taking into account previous RS titles on any platform) RS:Vegas IS a quality title which (unexpectedly) fullfilled my shooter needs on 360.

For the future i'm hardly interested in GRAW2, but am curious about some coming titles like Bioshock and would like very much to see OGR styled game return to 360 and of course a ArmA/360.

Xbox all the way... They should release ArmA for 360 and PC (at least) and original xbox (hopeful )

I like the laid back gaming style of consoles... you just lay on you couch and blow crap up on your huge TV (or my tiny TV )!

On a PC, on the other hand, you have to sit in a crappy uncomfortable chair 30cm away from the screen... (I'm not against PC games, but when I want to relax I play Xbox.)

But... the PC can handle much more firepower... if you have a good PC (unlike me )
    Conclusion: Xbox owns.

The Canadian C7A1 Rifle. Hell yeah.
