No sound at all ingame

Recommended Posts

I start the game and no sound is present, menu, ingame, everything sad_o.gif

The EAX/Hardware Sound option seems to be locked. The game worked for while and for some reason its started doing this.

I've posted on other forums with no luck so far in fixing this. help.gif

By the way, all other games/windows works normal.

Thanks,

Oli

*yawns*

All i know is that there are known "issues" betwean OPFR and some onboard sound devices.

Instead of yawning and being lazy use the search feature, try:

nforce, onboard, sound, etc. If you want a solution that works for sure get yourself a sound card smile_o.gif .

How do I know that will DEFINATELY solve the problem?

When you going to buy the cheapest shitty soudcard that you can find, that will most probably not help. Try an Audigy2, they work great.

I found a Creative 5.1 X-Fi - Å55, probably get that, is that ok?

See here

Might get 7.1 version when I upgrade my speaker system in the future.

Yes, that should be ok.

But what 7.1 version? 7.1 sound is supported from Audigy2 upwards, so the X-Fi Music supports 7.1 sound too.

Edit:

Product Description Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music - sound card

Device Type Sound card

Interface Type PCI

Signal Processor Creative X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity

Sound Output Mode 7.1 channel surround

For that price you must get 7.1 sound. That is one of the best soundcards for gaming you can buy atm.

Just checked its OEM version, Full version is like Å25 more.

Will I still get same software with it just not in a fancy box?

You will not get the oem version without ordering other parts i`m afraid. You should lookout for Audigy4 soundcards, they are not that expensive, but good for gaming too.

You will probably not get all the software that comes with the full version. But what more do you need than drivers? For 25 pound you can buy the game that comes with the full version.

Bought the OEM version, checked on other sites and it just comes in Brown box not fancy Creative one. All software still present along with other accessories.

Don`t forget to deactivate the onboard soundchip in your BIOS, before you install the new soundcard.
