Thread: Boat Insertion

Been trying to set up some missions using PBRs & boats (instead of the done to death air assault) to drop infantry off for raiding missions or LRRP insertion. But trying to get the AI to go inshore to deliver them is really hit or miss, sometimes they don't even get in close and just turn away from the waypoint (even with a get out wp). I thought it might have been because of OPFOR units in the vicinity but even trying to get them to unload on an unguarded stretch is just not reliable.
Have tried moving the wp, using an unload plus a get out wp all to no avail.
Am I missing something really simple?

I think you need to zoom right in and set the waypoint as close on the water and land line as possable.

I also hate using boats in OFP.

    Thanks for the replies guys.
It is a case of finding the exact spot where water meets land, but you have to take into account the weather, the tide and a real life varience in the swell. Must have run through one insertion about 50 times and none of them were exactly the same.
I was hoping for a way to make boat insertion 100% reliable but as somebody said the "sea is a mysterious and unpredictable beast" well whats true in real life is true in OFP!

When I shoot you in the woods and nobody hears it, is it murder?
