Hi, i've been playing OFP for quite a time (Wel... since the demo :P), but recently my OFP ist crashing, especially in MP. I got no idea why and what's the problem, but i can play other games like a half day and there's no crash.

I think it might be a problem with my AC-97 onboard soundcard, because often just a few seconds before OFP crashes and my PC automatically reboots, i hear the sound crackle, sounds really strange, like its downsampled.

Well if anybody got an idea i would be glad do hear it .

Search for "AC-97" from "The Beginning" in the forum's Search page and you will find many problems with the AC-97 chips. I'm sure one of those threads holds the answer to your problem

Try taking out the sound card or disabling it, then try.

Note - Im not sure how easy it actually is to disable/take out a sound card so it may not be very (damn forgot the word - when something is a good idea or bad)

    AC-97 onboard soundcard
That's gonna be a tuff job to do

    Back on topic:

Try to update drivers for both the soundcard (if you can do that with onboards) and the MoBo itself.

    Regards

I'm guessing as with 94.7% of all owners of onboard AC97 soundcards you're using the drivers as provided by the motherboard manufacturer? From my experience you're better off using the drivers created by Realtek themselves.

If someone reports an issue/complains about the Alpha etc, replying in the thread "dude it's an alpha" doesn't really help anyone! Point them to the Arma3 Alpha feedback tracker instead please!

Please do not PM or Email me directly about your CD Key issues, follow the guidance in this thread instead.
