Thread: Seeking advice on how to start

  1. #1
I just bought Operation Flashpoint GOTY but I'm unsure how best to proceed. Should I jump straight into the campaign or would I be better off learning more about the game through the single missions before trying the campaign?

First complete CWC and then Resistance. It's worth the time it'd take

PS: If you want to play the campaign using vanilla OFP I suggest you take a look at this. It replaces OFP sounds with better ones from OFP:Elite.

The campaign is an excellent place to start, if you're a beginner.

The campaign has the benifit of introducing you to the various elements of the game over 20 missions or so and gives a good overview of what is possible. Feel free to give the single missions a play though - many of the official missions will tell you the important keys to use at the start of the mission. Most of all, have fun and enjoy yourself.

    My advice:

Do the single player mission: Ambush, first (best BIS infantry mission, IMHO). Then start the campaign. Then never play it again, and just edit and make addons for the rest of your OPF life.

The instructions of how to do stuff appear in Ambush, so don't worry.

Everyone tempted to post another inane/useless/whogivesatoss topic in the A3 forum - here.

You should patch the game with the latest patch, 1.96.
You can find it at Ofp.info.
