Thread: INV44 Winter Replacement Pack

1. #1
Ive downloaded this pack and well i cant seem to download the island and vegetation addons posted in the readme but i cant seem to find a link within all the whatever language that is.
I tried playing without the veg and island but its not replaced, i have all the addons but they dont replace anything like the name suggests.

Any help installing this.
Cheers.

I think it's more of an addon pack that a replacement. I havn't tried putting it with original Inv44 demo (I've got it in it's own mod folder) but as far as I know it replaces the Kar98 and MP40 with Liberation ones, and the sounds with BIA ones.

I've also had trouble downloading the island. It's one the forum given (2nd page, 4 posts up from the bottom), but as its Rapidshare ( ) I can't download it. So i've been waiting eagerly for a mirror.

It is only a replacement pack for the original Invasion44 units, not for the BIS units in CWC and so on.

Well, here is a mirror for the AddonPack:
-Download-
And here is one for the islands:
- Download -
Mirror:

Thanks for the mirror

Anyone else have an error with the Panther, that it doesn't target infantry, has strange interiors and the sight for the cannon is pink?

there's some wwIIec US crew in there + shermans...

is it THAT hard to ask for permission to use and modify and change the tags properly to avoid conflicts ?

that just pisses me off... people releasing "converted packs" or "modified configs" without asking anything to the authors, and then we get people popping up in our forum because our addons crash when people play them with this kind of "outlaw" release

this isnt the first time and something tells me this isnt gonna be the last time either...

I knew that this will gonna end like that...

First of all, news about my replacement... Author of news has made 3 mistakes, 1 - it's beta, 2 - reyhard, not reyhart... 3 - pictures in the news don't represent content of demo...

And about permissions and so on... I intend to ask for persmissions after i had finished my little mod, this reales was any public test beta so members from polish community could advise me what to add, fix or just say it's look good or no... If you wan't more to talk more about that send me PM... Hope you will understand me...

I really didn't to create any topic before any official realse but if there is one yet i will explain some thing now...

I created that replacement so i could play standard I44 missions with winter units (i created quite big number of MP missions using I44 and i thought it will be funny to play Op. Husky or any other MP missions with that...).

Current version of modification contains:
-PaK 40 is able to by hooked to truck/halftruck
-You can take and deploy again MG's
-and it had some other smallers features...

Ahh, and some days ago i relesed a patch, most of bugs are fixed there...

well i dont mind people using stuff from wwIIec as long as they let us know about it, give us credit (which you did on the readme though) and they change ALL the tags.

that includes the name of the p3d as well, since class cfgmodels uses the p3d name to declare the models in the config. too bad ofpec is down, they have a page there explaining what tags are for and how to use them, it seems the majority of people think you can get away by just changing the pbo's name but thats not how it works... politeness and respect aside, this is one of the main reason i like people to contact me when they use stuff from wwIIec's packs to brief them about compatibility issues - for individual releases contact the respective authors directly -

So please in the future contact the authors BEFORE it goes public, i do understand you intended to release it to the polish community for testing purposes only and that wasnt like some kind of official release, but it was only a matter of time before it made it to ofp.info and its not nice for us to find out about it on the news page...

as i said we've had a few cases where people would modify our stuff (without asking) and release it, and i get really really annoyed when we get people posting in our forum about how our packs dont work, only to find out later they've been using modifed stuff that caused all the problems...

so please change all the tags of any wwIIec stuff you use to your own so we can avoid this kind of issues in the future.

cheers

Fab.
